About the Author

Carlo Rosati

Carlo J. Rosati may not be the first person you would think of when it comes to a book for children. Carlo has been in the field of forensic science for the past thirty-nine years.  He has worked for the FBI and ATF Laboratories on more than 3,900 submissions which included thousands of items of evidence.
Carlo has been teaching Forensic examiners and Police Officers during his professional life. He accepted a position as Adjunct Instructor six years ago at the Virginia Commonwealth University where he teaches an under-graduate class in Firearms/Toolmarks for the Forensic Science Department. While passing on the institutional knowledge to In-service and University students are rewarding he wanted to help a younger audience to escape the daily reports of violence in so many locations. This led him to write his story about a train station and the daily events of a rural location.
Carlo is proud to say he has great family and friends. He still gets together with his cross country team mates from Kings College for reunions and laugh about the glory days.

5 STARS

Cover design- simple bright colors. If a child was into trains and saw this book, they would definitely want to read it. 5 STARS

Concept- trains are at times an overdone subject of children’s books. After all there are a few popular ones, Thomas, The polar express and the little engine that could. Carlos chose to write his book on the station they stop at more than the trains themselves. 5 STARS

Plot/subplot- The plot is the station. This station sees all kinds of trains come through. With each one Carlos talks about the station and what it does for the trains. 5 STARS

Character development- this is a little tricky for this book as the characters are trains and a station. That being said Carlos did describe them really well. 5 STARS

Entertainment Level- This book is a quick read. Kids who love trains will love it. They will be easily entertained and will be able to read it to themselves. 5 STARS

Overall- 5 STARS I would recommend this book to all children’s and schools. -Reviewed by Award Winning author, Shannon Simpson

Washington Junction train station is a real place we can really visit, and we should. It's Point of Rocks, Maryland. Commuter trains go through it every day taking hard-working employees to Washington D.C. and bringing them home every night.

This slender book is chock full of beautiful illustrations of Washington Junction and the trains that go through it. Author Carlo Rosati commuted on the Washington Junction train for 15 years when he worked in our nation's capital. From his experiences come Washington Junction, a memory to be cherished and shared. – Reviewed by Janet
