A Stairway of Books
If I asked you to stack up all of the books you have read in your life how high would you be off of the ground? Would you even make it off of the ground? Books elevate us, they take us to a higher level of life! A life where we must see in our mind the things being described by the words on the pages before us. As a reader, you expect a take away from each book you read.
As a writer, you must provide this elevation in the words you put down on the page. You must factor the reader’s expectation into the equations you develop for crafting your story. Every time your readers close the cover of your book you want to have deposited something within them. It is these deposits that elevate them and keep them coming back to see if you have written something new.
